      o How to work with a pass-through partner for a Business Energy Tax Credit
      (which increased to 50% of the costs of renewable energy projects in Oregon)
      o Report on the efforts underway to create a strong workforce for clean energy companies in Oregon
      o How can cities and counties become energy independent?
      o Green building and energy independence – what’s the connection?

Oregon Solar Energy Working Group

To further Governor Kulongoski’s renewable energy initiatives,
the Oregon Department of Energy is establishing a statewide Solar Energy Working Group (SEWG).
This group will bring together stakeholders to identify 10-20 strategic actions that will advance solar in Oregon.

The Plan will be divided into four main areas (see below),
with subgroups assigned to address them.
Each subgroup will come up with 3-5 specific opportunities that should be pursued.

                                       * Policy Infrastructure (laws, licenses, utility issues);
                                       * Workforce development (training);
                                       * Manufacturing (supply side recruitment and business development);
                                       * Local Market and Public Education (new and existing construction, marketing, incentives, schools).

SEWG’s findings and recommendations will be reported to the Governor’s Renewable Energy Working Group,
and presented at the NW Solar Expo in Portland, on September 14th, 2007.

The Group's core membership has statewide representation.
Other interested parties are invited to participate. For further information, please contact:
